Terms of Service

These terms govern the websites of Boya Chinese (byzw.ca), Boya Math (bysx.ca) and Boya Maple (boyamaple.ca), the parent portal, the student learning app and our messaging services (together, the "Services"), all provided by Boya Maple Inc. ("Boya", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Who may use the Services
Parent accounts must be opened by a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or older. Student accounts are created for enrolled students and are used under the supervision of that parent or guardian, who is responsible for the student's use.
2. Accounts
You agree to give accurate contact details and keep them up to date, so we can reach you about classes. Keep your password and verification codes private. You are responsible for activity on your account; tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
3. Enrolment, schedules and fees
Class schedules, locations, teachers and fees are shown at enrolment and may change; we will notify you of changes. Leave requests and class swaps must be made before the deadline shown in the parent portal. You may request a refund at any time, without giving a reason. Refunds are prorated for the classes not yet taken and are paid within 7 days of your request.
4. Class reminders and service messages
We send service messages to the mobile number, email address or WeChat account on your account. These include class reminders (about one per scheduled lesson), schedule changes and account notices, sent from +1 (825) 502-6335 or our school email.
- To stop text reminders, reply STOP. You will receive one confirmation and no further reminders.
- For help, reply HELP or contact us at (647) 529-6335 or info@byzw.ca.
- To unsubscribe from email reminders, use the link in the email or change your settings in the parent portal.
- Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Reminders are a convenience. Please also keep track of your own schedule; a missed or late message does not change class times or fees.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- share your account or access another family's information;
- upload content that is unlawful, harmful or infringes someone else's rights;
- copy, resell or redistribute lesson materials outside your family's own learning;
- interfere with, probe or overload the Services.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
6. Lesson materials and student work
Lesson materials, audio, questions and software belong to Boya or its licensors and are licensed to you for your family's personal learning only. Students keep ownership of the work they submit. You allow us to store and review that work to teach, assess and report progress, and to use it in anonymized form to improve our teaching.
7. Availability
We work to keep the Services available but do not guarantee they will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may update or change features at any time.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Boya is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid for the affected class term. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Ontario consumer protection law.
9. Ending your account
You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may close an account that breaks these terms. After closing, we keep and delete information as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
11. Changes to these terms
We will post changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will notify parents in advance by email or in the parent portal.
